Meet your new Board Members for
District 11 and District 13!
Mike Romsa
District 11
How do you want to help educate our members on the electric industry and keep our members informed?
As a new Board Member, I myself have a lot to learn regarding the electric industry. Up until this point, I have only been a consumer. In all industries, there are environmental, legislative, and governmental mandates, to name a few, which challenge how business is conducted. I am looking forward to working with the board members and High West Energy administrators/staff who have experience and knowledge to share.
What do your interests include?
My interests are mostly business and family related. I attend Crossroads Community Church in Pine Bluffs. I have enjoyed working alongside my sons and wife as our family grew and coaching them in basketball, football, and especially wrestling. These experiences have allowed me to form lifelong friendships with other families who were involved.
How is being a Board Member important to you?
I represent District 11; however, as a Board Member, I am part of a team where the focus needs to be on ensuring cost-effective, safe, and reliable services to all High West Energy members.
Jessica Crowder
District 13
What issues do you want to address regarding the energy sector?
Energy demand and sources have changed over the years and these changes could impact rural communities and rural economies in positive and negative ways. I am interested in understanding the diversity of energy sources High West relies on and addressing use of these sources to provide affordable and reliable energy as demand increases, particularly with the potential for increased populations in the service area. And, as someone interested in agriculture and natural resources, I think it is important we carefully consider the need for energy production and the need to keep land available for agricultural production. I am also interested in learning about the role of co-ops in providing broadband to rural areas and how state and federal policies impact co-ops.
How is being a Board Member important to you?
It is important for me to participate in my community, serve my community, and learn about different sectors of our economy. I am certain that being a member of this board will provide in-depth knowledge of how electric co-ops continue to play an important role in this area and others. Conversations with members are also important. As a Board Member, I look forward to conversations that help me better understand the needs and questions of the members we serve.
