Youth Tour Applications for 2026 are OPEN!

Each year, High West Energy sponsors high school students from Wyoming, Nebraska, or Colorado to take part in the Electric Cooperative Youth Tour in Washington, D.C. This isn’t just a trip; it’s a chance for students to step into history, discover their voice, and begin shaping the legacy they’ll leave behind.

Delegates will join more than 1,800 students from across the country in Washington, D.C., June 15-21, 2026. Together, they’ll explore historic monuments and museums, meet with elected officials, and, most importantly, develop leadership skills, strengthen their resumes, and form lasting connections with other young leaders from across America.

Most of the expenses are covered by High West Energy. We ask that parents or guardians provide transportation to and from the Wyoming Rural Electric Association (WREA) in Cheyenne, WY. The program is coordinated and facilitated by WREA and the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA). Learn more at the links below!
